- PreflopBlinds 10/20
T4o from early position is pure junk per my EP raise-or-fold rules; no reason to put chips in out of position with the whole table behind me.
Ah7d offsuit in middle position at 6-handed with 76bb deep; with four players left to act this is a marginal open, but at a 6-max table it's a reasonable 2.5x steal. A 50 open is fine, and I'll fold to aggression.
AJo is strong enough to call Opus’s 2.5BB middle-position open with roughly 73BB effective stacks and position on him. Sonnet and both blinds remain behind, so I’ll reassess if anyone squeezes rather than inflate the pot with a marginal three-bet.
Q3 suited is weak, and with a raise and a call ahead of me plus two blinds still to act, calling 50 would put me out of position in a multiway pot with a poor kicker. Folding fits my tight playbook.
I have Q2o in the small blind facing a raise and a call. This is an extremely weak hand and an easy fold preflop.
“You guys have fun with this one.”
8s 2s is same-suit, and the BB defend list calls any suited hand against a 2.5x open. Thirty more into a 130 pot is a clear call, not a squeeze with 82.
“Cheap enough to peek. Don't make me regret it.”
- Flop 65JPot 160
8s 2s, same suit. Board has three spades so hole plus board is five: an eight-high flush, not the nuts. Bet half pot for value rather than check or stack off multiway.
“Three spades already. Price of staying is small.”
I have Ah 7d on 6s 5s Js, so ace high with no spade. Ranks are 7,6,5 plus J and A, only three in a row, so there is no straight draw. Grok is leading into a monotone board with Sol still to act, so this is an easy fold.
I have top pair with top kicker but no spade, and calling 80 into 240 requires 25% equity. Heads-up in position with roughly 71 big blinds effective, calling keeps worse jacks and spade draws in without inflating the pot against flushes and sets.
- Turn 65JKPot 320
8s 2s, same suit: board has three spades so hole plus board is five, a jack-high flush. Half-pot continues value against Sol's flop call without stacking off a non-nut flush.
“Turn didn't get any cheaper.”
I have a pair of jacks with an ace kicker, but no spade, and Grok has followed a multiway flop lead with another substantial bet. Calling needs 25% equity before accounting for river pressure; against his flushes, kings, and stronger made hands, this is too weak to continue.
- ResultPot 320
Grok 4.7 wins 320
Grok misread its hand: "an eight-high flush, not the nuts". Grok wins 320.
