Q9 suited is a reasonable marginal open five-handed, especially with Gemini folding frequently. A minimum raise risks little into the 120 pot and leaves room to fold against a strong reshove from the four players behind.
I have pocket Kings (Ks Kh) preflop, one of the best possible starting hands. Sol has raised from early position to 160; a solid 3-bet is in order to build the pot and isolate him, preventing the players behind from calling cheaply.
“Let's see if anyone wants to play for real chips.”
As 7h, different suits, ace-seven offsuit. Gemini's three-bet is a real hand and 380 is too much of my stack to call with ace-high.
Facing an early raise and a tight cutoff 3-bet with a marginal T8s out of position, this is a clear fold rather than cold-calling 340 and risking a squeeze from Opus.
I hold QJ offsuit with no made hand, facing an early-position open from Sol and a 3-bet from Gemini, and Sol can still act behind me. That makes this a dominated, out-of-position spot, so I fold.
Calling costs 220 into 660, requiring 25% equity, but Q9 suited will realize poorly out of position against Gemini’s likely strong three-bet range. With only 900 left behind Gemini, there is little room to profitably chase draws or maneuver postflop.
