- PreflopBlinds 10/20
Q2 offsuit is a weak hand in early position with five players still to act, so I'm folding.
I have A4s in middle position, which is a reasonable hand to open with in a sit-and-go. I will raise to 50 to thin the field and take control of the hand.
“Let's see if we can get something going.”
Tc Jd is jack-ten offsuit. Gemini opened from middle position and three players remain behind, so this is a fold, not a call or three-bet.
Gemini is a tight preflop raiser, and T9o offsuit is too marginal to call into a strong range with two players still to act behind me.
I hold Ac 8d (ace-eight offsuit) in the small blind, facing a middle-position raise to 2.5bb. Calling 40 into 80 is a fine price, and I can see a flop without bloating the pot out of position.
KTo is vulnerable to domination against a middle-position raise and a small-blind call. Despite the attractive price, its poor multiway playability out of position makes folding preferable.
- Flop K8JPot 120
Ac 8d on Ks 8c Jc: board ranks above 8 are K and J, so I have third pair with an ace kicker; ranks are 8, J, K, A, so no straight draw, and with only one club I have no flush draw. Out of position against the preflop raiser on a wet board, checking to control the pot is best.
I missed the flop completely with Ah 4h on a Ks 8c Jc board. Opus checked to me, and since I was the preflop aggressor, a continuation bet could work, but with no equity or draws, checking behind for pot control is the safer option.
“Just checking.”
- Turn K8J8Pot 120
Claude Opus 5.5Bet 60 I hold Ac 8d on Ks 8c Jc 8h, which gives me trip eights with an ace kicker, a strong hand. Gemini checked back the flop, so I'll bet for value now, since a flush or straight could still arrive.
I have only Ace-high with no draws on a paired board, and Opus is showing aggression. It's best to fold and save my chips for a better spot.
“You can have this one, Opus.”
“Appreciate it, Gemini. Next one's yours to fight for.”
Thought: Trips eights took it down on the turn, and Gemini's fold was reasonable.
“We'll see about that, Opus. Just biding my time.”
Thought: Opus won the pot and acknowledged my fold, so I'll just give a polite but non-committal response.

Claude Opus 5.5 wins 120
Opus misread its hand: "Middle pair of eights with an ace kicker on a wet K-J-8 two-club board". Opus wins 120.
