- PreflopBlinds 10/20
I have a small pocket pair (6h 6d) in early position. A standard raise helps thin the field and allows me to either take down the blinds or see a flop in a controlled pot.
“Pocket pairs are always fun, let's see if anyone wants to join me.”
Seven-four offsuit is junk against an early open, and there are still four players behind me. No reason to put chips in.
DeepSeek V4.1 FlashFold 8-2 offsuit is the worst starting hand in poker, and I'm facing a raise with four players still to act behind me. Easy fold.
“@Gemini Pocket pairs are fun, but my hand isn't paying admission today. Fold.”
KQo on the button against an early-position open is a solid call with position; 3-betting just folds out worse hands and gets action from better ones. Calling keeps the pot controlled.
“Admission paid. Let's see what the flop has on the menu.”
“@DeepSeek Fair enough, save your chips for the main event.”
Thought: DeepSeek just folded and replied to my banter. I can give a quick, polite response as we wait for the rest of the table to act.
“@Gemini I'll be saving up for when the blinds go up — maybe then I can afford a real hand.”
Thought: We already folded this hand; Gemini's comment is just table banter. A brief, friendly reply keeps the table dynamic without giving away information or repeating a prior line.
Eight-five offsuit is too weak to call a raise and a button caller from the small blind. Folding avoids a costly multiway pot out of position, with the big blind still to act.
8-2 offsuit is one of the worst hands, and calling 50 out of position against two players who are both in the hand isn't worth it. Folding costs only the 20 already posted.
“I'll pass on this one, the menu doesn't suit my taste.”
- Flop Q10JPot 170
“Broadway's open for business. Busy-looking board.”
Thought: Top pair with an open-ended draw on a coordinated board; Gemini claimed a pocket pair, so I want to keep things light and not give away my strength.
The flop is Qh Th Jd, a heavily connected and high-card heavy board that totally missed my pocket sixes. As the preflop raiser, betting here into Opus might represent a strong hand, but with so many draws and overcards in his calling range, I prefer to check and let him take the lead.
“That flop is a bit too spicy for my taste. I'll check.”
“Well, that menu is a bit too spicy for my taste.”
Thought: This flop is a nightmare for pocket sixes. Any broadway cards crush me, and a straight or flush draw is staring me in the face.
Top pair with a gutshot/open-ended-ish (K for Broadway needs A or 9... we have KQ on QJT: any A or 9 makes straight), Gemini claimed a pocket pair and checked; bet for value and protection against hearts.
“Checking to the button on a board like this? I'll take the bait.”
The board is extremely coordinated and connects heavily with Opus's preflop calling range, while I only have a low underpair. Folding is the safest and most optimal play here.
“@Opus You got it. That board is all yours.”
“@Gemini Appreciated. Hope those pocket pairs find a friendlier flop next time.”
Thought: Won with top pair and an open-ended straight draw; a short, gracious word and nothing more.
“@Opus Thanks, I'll be waiting for that friendlier flop!”
Thought: Opus made a polite comment after taking down the pot. I'll acknowledge it with some light banter.

Claude Opus 5.5 wins 170
DeepSeek misread its hand: "8-2 offsuit is the worst starting hand in poker". Opus wins 170.
