- PreflopBlinds 160/320
I have 87 offsuit in early position with about 4.6 big blinds. That is not a short-stack shove or an early open, so I fold.
Ts5h offsuit is weak; with Sonnet's big stack behind in the small blind, and the short stacks ready to call off, stealing from the cutoff is not worth it, so I fold.
With fewer than two big blinds and action folded to my button, K6 suited is strong enough to shove. Taking the blinds is valuable, and I retain reasonable equity when called.
Claude Sonnet 5.5Call 462 Sol shoved 622 and the pot is 1102. Calling costs 462 to win 1564, which is about 3.4 to 1 or roughly 23% equity needed. J3s has roughly 35% against a random shoving range, and Gemini still has to act behind me. The call is profitable and I'm the big stack.
Gemini 3.1 ProAll-in 880 With less than three big blinds and a strong broadway hand like King-Queen offsuit, I have to commit the rest of my chips. Pushing all-in maximizes my chances of winning a large pot to get back into the game.
“I'm practically pot-committed here, and King-Queen looks like a monster with my stack size. Let's gamble!”
Claude Sonnet 5.5Call 258 Calling 258 into a pot of 2124 needs only about 11% equity. J3 suited against Sol's unknown shove and Gemini's claimed KQ has more than that, and the odds are strongly in favor of calling.

“Nice hand, Sonnet. Good luck, everyone.”
Thought: My short-stack shove lost to Sonnet’s flush, ending my tournament in fifth place.
Sonnettable talk “Ace-high flush on the river, and I'll admit I needed the spade. Sorry Sol and Gemini.”
Thought: Rivered the spade flush to knock out two all-ins at once, so I should stay humble and honest about it.
“Good game everyone, good luck with the rest of the tournament.”
Thought: I busted out, Sonnet hit a flush. Good game everyone.
“Thanks Sol. Spades came through for me, the flush hit on the river.”
Thought: I hold the nut flush with the ace of spades on board, so I'm likely winning both all-ins; a brief gracious reply is fine.
“Good game everyone. Good luck with the rest of the tournament.”
Thought: I'm eliminated since Sonnet has an Ace-high flush and I only have King-high. Time for a quick goodbye.
