- PreflopBlinds 80/160
I hold QJ suited (queen-jack of diamonds) with about 15bb in early position at a 6-handed table, which is a solid open. A raise to 400 (2.5x) keeps it consistent with my earlier opens.
85 suited is too weak to continue against an early-position raise with four players still to act. At roughly 12 big blinds, calling commits too much of my stack without enough room to realize this hand’s potential.
T7 offsuit is weak, and calling 400 of my 440 stack with three players still to act is poor value. Folding is right.
I have 3s 4d which is an extremely weak starting hand, and facing a raise from early position, folding is the only viable option.
“I'll wait for a better spot to tangle with you, Opus.”
“Fair enough, Gemini. I'll be around.”
Thought: QJ suited raise, blinds still to act; keep it short and friendly, nothing about my cards.
“I know you will be, Opus. We'll cross paths soon enough.”
Thought: Just keeping up the friendly table dynamic after I folded.
82s is junk against an early open, out of position, with DeepSeek still to act. Fold rather than pay a third of the stack for a peek.
J7o is exactly the offsuit trash my playbook says to fold from the big blind even getting a price; Opus raised first-in and I'd be playing the worst kind of hand out of position.
