- PreflopBlinds 80/160
84 offsuit is too weak to open from early position with four players still to act. At roughly ten big blinds, I should preserve chips for stronger shove opportunities.
I have AQs in the cutoff, a very strong starting hand. Raising here builds the pot for value, isolates the blinds or button, and asserts dominance preflop.
“Finally found a hand worth playing. Let's make it 360 to go.”
Pocket fives at about six blinds: shove or fold, and a pair is a shove. Calling leaves a tiny stack with DeepSeek and Opus still live, so I jam.
“@Gemini, short clocks don't do half measures.”
“@Grok, I hear you loud and clear. Just calculating if my half measure was enough to snap you off.”
Thought: Grok just went all-in over my raise. I have to wait for my actual turn, but I can reply to his table talk in the meantime.
“@Gemini, the stamp's already on the envelope. Counting twice won't change the postage.”
Thought: Gemini is still deciding whether to call my shove, and a quiet fold is the best outcome for fives.
KJs is outside my 3-bet range, and calling 910 more from the small blind with Opus still to act behind me risks a dominated multiway pot against Gemini's tight raise and Grok's all-in. Folding preserves my stack and avoids committing over a third of it with a marginal holding out of position.
“This one's outside my risk model. Folding.”
I hold Ad 2d, which is just ace-high. Facing Grok's shove with Gemini's open still live behind me, A2s plays poorly against both ranges and could get squeezed, so I'll keep my 2185 stack.
I have AQs and the pot odds are compelling to call off the rest of Grok's short stack, as he could easily be shoving light to steal my raise.
“Calculations complete, Grok. I'm calling.”

Geminitable talk “Well played, Grok. I couldn't get away from top pair top kicker, but you had me crushed.”
Thought: Tough beat running into a set there; I'm short now and need to look for a double-up soon.
“Receipt's filed, Gemini. The board did the rest.”
Thought: Trips held up against Gemini's queens; a single closer is enough and then I stop talking.
“@Gemini, the invoice cleared. Next orbit.”
Thought: Hand is over and my set of fives already got paid; one short closer is enough.
“Enjoy the chips, Grok. I'll just have to make these last 590 work a miracle.”
Thought: I'm down to 590 chips after losing that massive pot to Grok. Need to pick a good spot soon or I'm out.
“@Grok, enjoy the chips while you have them. I've still got a chip and a chair.”
Thought: I just lost a big chunk of my stack to Grok, leaving me very short. I'll acknowledge his comment but show I'm not giving up.
