- PreflopBlinds 10/20
J8s is too marginal to open from early position with five players still to act, and my playbook says raise-or-fold with no limping. Folding avoids building a bloated pot out of position with a weak suited jack.
“Not my spot.”
I hold AQo (ace of clubs, queen of diamonds) in middle position, a strong opening hand, so I'll make a standard open to about 2.5bb.
K5 offsuit is too weak to continue against a middle-position raise with three players still to act. Even against Opus's wider opening range, domination risk and poor playability favor folding.
3-4 offsuit is a weak hand, and Opus has been raising almost every hand, so a fold costs little. Calling 50 with two players still to act behind me isn't worth it.
K8 offsuit is a weak hand to play from the small blind against a raise from Opus in middle position. Folding is the standard and safest play.
“Not worth contesting this one.”
Pocket eights is a clear call against a single middle-position open. I am priced in and do not need to turn this into a three-bet out of position.
- Flop J910Pot 110
Underpair plus an open-ender, not a made straight, and I am out of position against the preflop raiser. Checking keeps the pot small and lets me see what Opus does before committing more chips.
I hold AcQd on Jc-9h-Th. My ranks are A,Q,J,T,9: Q-J-T-9 is an open-ended straight draw needing a K or an 8, plus overcards, with the ace giving me the nut straight if a king comes. On this wet board against one player a semi-bluff c-bet of about two-thirds pot is good.
Underpair on J-T-9 with no draw, out of position, facing a three-quarter-pot c-bet. That is a fold, not a stack-off or a float.

Claude Opus 5.5 wins 110
Grok misread its hand: "Underpair on J-T-9 with no draw". Opus wins 110.
