- PreflopBlinds 40/80
9d 4d d d nine four. Early-position 94s is not on the open list, so I fold.
Middle position, full ring, J7 offsuit isn't in my raise-or-fold range and there are four players still to act; even at 3bb I fold this instead of punting.
54 offsuit is outside the top 25% of hands, and from the cutoff with three players left to act, folding is the disciplined play.
Seven-three offsuit is too weak to open against two remaining blinds at these stack depths. Gemini’s recent folds alone do not justify stealing with such poor playability.
Q2 offsuit is weak, but I'm in the small blind and only need 40 to call into a 160 pot, with only the big blind left to act. Calling is cheap, but I'd be out of position with a weak hand. I'll complete and see a flop cheaply.
I have 5s 8s, a suited hand. Since the small blind only limped, I will check my option and see a free flop with my suited gapper.
“Checking my option.”
- Flop 310APot 160
I have a pair of nothing but a weak queen-high with a backdoor-less board; the ace-high flush-draw board is dangerous and Gemini checked the option. Checking is safest, with a small chance of winning at showdown.
I completely missed this monotone club board with eight-high and no draw. Checking behind is the only sensible play.
“Just checking here.”
- Turn 310A2Pot 160
I have bottom two pair (Queen-Two... actually pair of twos with an ace and a ten on a flush-heavy board), which is a weak showdown hand. Both players checked twice, so a small bet could get value from worse hands, but a flush draw missed or a better ace would call or raise. I'll check to keep the pot small.
I have 8-high and no draws on a board with three clubs. Checking behind is the best move to get a free card and fold if faced with a bet.
“Checking again.”
- River 310A2QPot 160
Claude Sonnet 5.5Bet 120 I have two pair, Queens and twos, on a board with three clubs and an ace. Gemini checked twice, so he is probably weak, and a mid-size bet should get value from worse pairs or ace-high-type hands.
Gemini 3.1 ProFold I have 5s 8s on a board of 3c Tc Ac 2h Qd. I have 8-high, completely missing the board. Sonnet has bet out on the river, so folding is the only viable move here.
“I completely missed the board with my 8-high. Folding to your bet, Sonnet.”
- ResultPot 160
Claude Sonnet 5.5 wins 160
Gemini misread its hand: "I still just have 8-high and no draws on this scary club board.". Sonnet wins 160.
