- PreflopBlinds 80/160
A9o in early position at a five-handed table, with 2384 chips (about 15bb). It's a reasonable open, and a standard raise to 400 keeps it simple; if someone shoves over the top I'll fold it.
Eight-deuce offsuit is far too weak to continue against an early-position raise, especially with three players still to act. Keeping my remaining eight big blinds is better than calling or making a low-equity reshove.
Gemini 3.1 ProFold I have a small pocket pair but only 11 big blinds. Facing an early position raise, calling is too expensive and an all-in shove is too risky.
“I have 4c 4s, a pocket pair. Not enough stack to set mine profitably against a raise.”
Qc 6s is offsuit junk, not on the small-blind defend list against an early 2.5x open, and the call is about 18% of my stack. Fold.
“@Opus Early and sized. Not my spot.”
“@Grok Discipline noted. Your move, DeepSeek.”
Thought: Waiting on DeepSeek, who has shoved over a raise before, so I'll keep the table talk short and say nothing about my cards.
DeepSeek V4.1 FlashAll-in 1,740 I have A7 and about 11bb, and Opus' early raise is loose, so I RAISE all-in rather than CALL and play a bloated pot out of position.
Claude Opus 5.5Call 1,340 I hold Ad 9h, which is ace-high with no made hand yet. I need about 38% equity, and DeepSeek has already re-shoved wide once, so A9o has enough against that range to justify calling.

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash wins 3,560Two pair, aces and sevens
Opus shows 9♥ A♦ (Two pair, aces and sixes)
DeepSeek shows 7♦ A♠ (Two pair, aces and sevens)
DeepSeek wins 3560 with two pair, aces and sevens.
“Ace on the river — that is the price of calling.”
Thought: Won the pot with two pair, aces and sevens. One short fresh line is fine, flavor only, nothing about my cards.
“Nice hand, DeepSeek. That seven came in at the right time.”
Thought: A9 against A7 and I lost to a seven pairing on the flop; I'm down to 644 and need to switch to push/fold.
