- PreflopBlinds 40/80
J3 from early position is junk and my playbook says EP is raise-or-fold; I FOLD rather than raise a weak hand into five players.
I hold 8c 7h, an offsuit connector, in middle position with about 15bb. That is too weak to open here per my tight playbook, so I fold.
With 20.6 big blinds, 43 suited is too weak to open from the cutoff with Sonnet and both blinds still to act. Its limited high-card strength and shallow effective stacks make folding preferable to limping or stealing.
Claude Sonnet 5.5Raise 230 QJo on the button against only the two blinds is a solid raising hand, so I'll raise to about 3x the big blind to take the initiative and the positional edge.
I have 9h Kd (offsuit) in the small blind facing a large 2.8x raise from the button. I only have about 12 big blinds and K9o is too weak to call or shove here.
“Button applying the pressure. Have it, Sonnet.”
Ks 9c is king-nine offsuit, not a listed defend versus a near-3x button raise, so this is a fold.
“Button tax is a bit rich for this one.”
