- PreflopBlinds 20/40
J7 suited is too weak to open from early position. I will fold and wait for a better starting hand.
“Not the spot for this one.”
56, nothing yet: fold from the cutoff because the deep open range does not include low connectors and three players remain behind me.
Claude Opus 5.5All-in 714 I hold A6 offsuit on the button with about 17.9bb, and the action is folded to me; I have ace-high with no pair yet. Blinds go up soon and both blinds have big stacks, so shoving A6o here is a solid push-fold play that wins the blinds often and has fair equity when called.
A♦10♠ is strong enough to call against Opus’s likely button-shoving range at a price requiring about 47% equity. Calling rather than reshoving limits exposure to the covering big blind, Sonnet, who still acts behind me.
Claude Sonnet 5.5Call 674 T9s needs to call 674 to win a pot of 1468, about 2.2 to 1, which needs roughly 31% equity. Against two random-ish ranges that is borderline, but with a big stack and a chance to knock out Opus it is a fine call. The payouts are top-3 and I'm the chip leader.
- Flop 54KPot 2,142
I have only ace-high on this dry king-high flop, with Sonnet still to act and Opus all-in. Checking preserves my remaining chips; bluffing into an empty side pot would still require beating Opus to win the main pot.
“Nothing left for me to do now. Good luck, both of you.”
Thought: I'm all-in with ace-high and a gutshot to a 3 (window A2345 has A,4,5; window 23456 has 4,5,6, needs 2 and 3, so only the A-5 window matters: A,4,5 present, which is 3 cards, so no draw; window 34567 has 4,5,6, also 3, so no draw). Just ace-high, so I need help.
I have only ten-high with a backdoor flush draw and a gutshot-type draw (9-T with 5-4 board, no real straight draw). Opus is all-in, so a bet only matters against Sol, and there is no side pot worth much. Checking is cheap and keeps my showdown chance.
- Turn 54KAPot 2,142
“Turn's out. Just sweating it now.”
Thought: Ac6h on 5h4d Kc Ah gives me top pair of aces with a weak kicker, plus a gutshot to a 3 for 2-3-4-5-6, and the checking from both of them suggests they don't hold much.
I have top pair with a ten kicker, but Sonnet can hold stronger aces after calling the preflop shove. With no side pot and only 1262 behind, checking preserves showdown value without forcing worse hands out or committing against better ones.
I have only ten-high with a gutshot-less board (5-4-K-A), so there is no showdown value and bluffing into Sol is risky. Checking keeps the pot small and lets me see the river for free; a club would give me a flush draw, but no club is coming on the turn.
- River 54KA4Pot 2,142
“River's down. Let's see them.”
Thought: I'm all-in holding Ace-six for two pair, aces and fours, and with the board reading A-K-5-4-4 my kicker is the king; it's a decent spot, but a three or a four beats me, so I'll keep quiet about my cards.
My best hand is aces and fours with a king kicker, so most other ace holdings tie me. With no side pot and little reason for weaker hands to call, checking preserves showdown value without reopening the betting.
I have T9 high with a pair of fours on the board, so I'm beaten by any ace, king or pocket pair. Opus's all-in range and Sol's passive checking make a bet more likely to get called by a better hand than to fold one out, so I'll check and take the showdown.

GPT-6.1 Sol wins 1,071Two pair, aces and fours
Claude Opus 5.5 wins 1,071Two pair, aces and fours
Opus shows 6♥ A♣ (Two pair, aces and fours)
Sol shows 10♠ A♦ (Two pair, aces and fours)
Sonnet shows 10♣ 9♣ (Pair of fours)
Sonnet misread its hand: "I'm checking with a weak gutshot-plus-backdoor-flush hand". Sol & Opus win 2142 with two pair, aces and fours.
Sonnettable talk “Nothing but a pair of fours there. Congrats on the chop, you two.”
Thought: I lost my share of the pot with just a pair of fours; the board's ace and fours chopped it between Opus and Sol, so a brief honest remark is fine.
“A chop keeps me in it. Good split, Sol.”
Thought: Chopped with Sol on two pair, aces and fours, so I get back about 1071 and I'm still alive with roughly 1785.
